| description | Objective To investigate the effect of the Tongqiao Gua Sha therapy in treating pediatric allergic rhinitis of lung and spleen Qi deficiency. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 30 children diagnosed with allergic rhinitis of lung and spleen Qi deficiency who visited the pediatric outpatient department from May 2023 to September 2024. A two-week of Tongqiao Gua Sha therapy based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome differentiation was applied, and comprehensive nursing interventions on daily living, dietary and psychological health were carried out during the treatment. The changes in rhinitis symptom score and physical sign score before and after treatment were compared. Results There was a significant decrease in rhinitis symptom score after treatment(P＜0. 01), and the total effective rate of Tongqiao Gua Sha therapy in relieving rhinitis symptom was 100. 00%. There was a significant decrease in physical sign score after treatment(P＜0. 01), and total effective rate of Tongqiao Gua Sha therapy in improving physical sign was 90. 00%. Conclusion The Tongqiao Gua Sha therapy is effective in treating pediatric allergic rhinitis of lung and spleen Qi deficiency, effectively relieving the rhinitis symptoms in affected children.
