Summary:The purpose of the article - analyze the peculiarities of the innovative project and grant activity of the library on the example of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv. The research methodology is based on general scientific principles of objectivity and systematicity, when using which methods were used analysis, synthesis, classification and systematization of theoretical data, analytical and documentary analysis. The scientific novelty consists in research the practical experience of preparation and implementation of the Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv of individual projects and grant programs. The main ideas of the developed projects, features and specifics of their implementation are considered, as well as the expected results are described. It was found that attracting additional funding opens up new opportunities for the library to improve the material and technical base of the institution, create an informational and communicative creative space, improve digital content, tools and services. In addition, the participation of the library staff in international and all-Ukrainian projects ensures the expansion of their professional worldview and contributes to the improvement of the professional level. Conclusions. Project activity is a combination of consecutive, interconnected actions aimed atachieving a clearly defined result within a limited period of time. The purpose and expected results of project activities of libraries are: implementation of innovative technologies; forming and raising the level of information culture of users and staff; popularization of library and information resources; development of new services for users; improving the quality of the material and technical base and creation of comfortable conditions for meeting the informational needs of readers. Participation in project activities provides the following advantages for the development of the library: 1) confirmation by the staff of the institution of its own professionalism and ability to provide innovations; 2) the possibility of attracting additional funds forthe implementation of various programs and projects; 3) providing leading library specialists with opportunities for self-realization, encouraging them to in crease their own creative activity.
