Summary:The paper describes the latest trends and forecasts of R&D in the aerospace industry. Particular attention is paid to dual-use technologies that used both military and civil sector, and nanotechnology developments. A number of concepts of future aircraft are discussed that are currently being at the stage of idea or basic research. The authors come to the conclusion - a technological breakthrough in the aerospace technologies and innovative people able to implement it are required in order that new generation of aircraft come true.
