description The development of the helical gear shaper with no spiral guide has great practical importance for promoting the progress of gear manufacturing industry in China.Aiming at the NC gear shaper studied in the homeland,the reciprocating motion and the turning motion of the slotting mechanism is analyzed,the displacement equation is deduced;the shaping mechanism is simulated by Adams,the interference curve and move curve of the gear shaper cutter and the work piece are taken,the validity of Kinematical analysis is verified.Finally,by comparison of different types of main movement mechanism,future research direction of the slotting mechanism of NC gear shaper is pointed out.
