Description
Summary:In order to discuss and analyze the influence of welding process on Q345R sulfide stress corrosion sensitivity, the sulfide stress corrosion cracking susceptibility of Q345R welded by manual welding and argon arc welding processes was tested and evaluated in NACE A solution with saturated H2S. The microstructure and mechanical properties of Q345R welded by the two welding processes were analyzed by SEM and vickers hardness tester. Results showed that the difference of sulfide stress corrosion cracking sensitivity of Q345R steel resulted from the difference of welding process, which made the difference of Widmanstatten structure and hardness in the starting welding area. Additionally, the welding slag was easy to be introduced during welding process and become the crack source, which accelerated the sensitivity of welding area in NACE A solution saturated by H2S and caused intergranular cracking.
