Summary:Thanks to its growing success at the end of the nineteenth century, café-concert became fully part of the dramatic landscape of its time, to the point where it borrowed from theatrical genre , performing for instance revues de fin d’année, which used to staged recent news. Cafés-concerts enjoyed the transitory nature of revues and offered, thanks to them, their own comments about scientific advancement. Although mainly ridiculed, science was also often depicted and showed from varied perspectives. Behind the ironic and degrading verses about scientific innovations in cafés-concerts, there was some kind of equivocal fascination for the power of enchantment of science, competing with the power of enchantment of cafés-concerts.
