Description
Summary:Abstracts: Finite element analysis based on ABAQUS is to clarify the changes of loads and displacements during masonry damage. In addition, the reinforcing effect of steel bar on the old houses in Sichuan Province, China, is investigated. In the study, after the reinforcement of the simulated Z1 and Z3 models, the ultimate load increased by about 17 %, the vibration period decreased by 10 % on average, the damage value decreased by about 30 %, and the interlayer displacement decreased by 4.05 on average. The results demonstrated that the ultimate load, failure load and ultimate displacement could be well simulated by ABAQUS-based finite element analysis. The addition of steel bar can improve the seismic performance of the historic building. The study can provide a basis for the selection of the diameter and spacing of the steel bar in the actual strengthening of historic buildings.
