Description
Summary:The objective of this study is to compare the surface flow regimes in the Alima and Loufoulakari hydro systems in the Republic of Congo based on flow and precipitation analyse. The morpholithological contrast influences the surface flows of rivers in the Batéké plateaus with a regular regime and in the Cataract plateau with an irregular regime. The methodological approach used on the analysis of the variability of the hydro-climatic parameters was carried out starting from the monthly averages of precipitations and flows. Statistical analyses show that precipitation and flow regimes change with seasonal and interannual time steps with different intensities in these two hydrological basins. The hydro climatic trends in these two hydrological basins are marked by upward and downward trends in flows. The seasonal evolution of surface flows in all of these basins alternates between surplus and deficit periods, and wet and dry periods. Linear regression showed that there is a perfect correlation between liquid flows and precipitation in the two hydrological basins.
