Description
Summary:This article aims to illustrate how social ontology can replace traditional constructivist approaches to media analysis. The focus is on the relation between sexual identity and computer games, both categorized using social ontology tools. Computer games are a good area in which to study the evolution of gender identity in recent years, because they have greatly influenced the free representation of non-traditional sexual categories (Japanese games) and the free choice of sexual identity (American games).
