| Summary: | The objective of this text focuses on reviewing the treatment of the verb tense corresponding to the future subjunctive, as well as the mood, in Spanish grammars. Since not all of them can be exhibited, we have chosen some representative ones from each period (from Nebrija [1492] to the most current one from the Real Academia Española [2009]). Considered today an archaic verb tense, it had its importance in past times and still enjoys a certain vitality in some American areas, as well as in legal-administrative language; it deserves, therefore, to be recognized and not to be treated as a fossil. |
