Description
Summary:Spiritual tourism is one of the oldest tourist niches, but one that is gaining increasing interest from travelers seeking specific quests, fulfillment or spiritual rejuvenation. The Moroccan context is fertile ground in this respect, given the cultural diversity of its social fabric, which includes both Jews and Muslims who have developed a distinctive model of coexistence. As an important component of Moroccan culture (via the identity-building process), Jewish-Moroccan heritage can be a powerful stimulus for a wide range of processes, both for Moroccans, Jews and Muslims alike (identity-enrichment and quest processes) and for non-Moroccans (resourcing processes). These processes can help stimulate spiritual tourism in Morocco.
