Summary:The cascaded inverter is widely used in high-voltage large-capacity system because of the sine output and low cost. However, in some special conditions, the harmonics component of output voltage will intensify heating of the reactor and motor windings, and then produce over-voltage and leakage current in the motor. Moreover, it will cause serious electromagnetic interference. Therefore, we need to filter the output waveforms. Based on the practical engineering applications, the article analyzes the harmonic characteristics of cascaded inverter system, and proposes how to design the output filter. At last, it verifies the effectiveness of the above measures by simulation and actual engineering.
