description | Objective:To study whether or not staying up late is an independent risk factor for stroke. Methods:From January 2013 to December 2013, patient data were recorded in Xiangya Boai Rehabilitation Hospital to analyze independent risks for stroke. The stroke group of 234 cases (including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke) and the control group of 234 cases were included in 1∶1 ratio. The independent variables to be included were: hypertension, diabellitus mellitus, blood lipid disorder, cardiac diseases, smoking, drinking and staying up late, and the significance level of the independent variables was analyzed by multiple logistic regression analysis to determine the risk factors. Results:Differences in hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, smoking, drinking, staying up late, and so on were statistically significant between the two groups (P<0.05). Conditional logistic regression analysis showed that hypertension (OR=4.385), diabetes (OR=2.657), dyslipidemia (OR=2.727), smoking (OR=2.299), drinking (OR=2.528), staying up late (OR=1.732), atrial fibrillation or valvular heart disease (OR=9.070) were the risk factors for stroke. Conclusion:In addition to hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, heart disease, smoking, addicted to alcohol and other main risk factors, staying up late is another independent risk factor for stroke. |
