| description | In line with the realization of the necessary strategic approach to achieve the future vision and attain a clear concept of the future of Fars Province, the present study has identified the key drivers influencing regional development prospects using a futurology approach within the framework of land use planning in Fars Province. This research is applied in terms of purpose (of the strategic development type), descriptive-analytical in terms of methodology, and inductive in terms of research approach. The data collection method was based on a documentary-survey approach utilizing the Delphi technique, and the interaction analysis method was employed to identify the research drivers. The statistical population of the study consisted of 37 experts and specialists in the field of regional development and land use planning, who were selected using the snowball sampling method. For data analysis and structural analysis of the impact of each indicator on regional development in Fars Province, the MICMAC software was used. The results of the study indicate that out of the 30 factors examined, four factors—investment attraction, the provincial land use planning system, governance, and water resources—are identified as key drivers influencing the regional development of Fars Province. These factors should be integrated into the planning of visions and regional development of Fars Province by the relevant organizations. Additionally, the findings revealed that variables such as education, technical and scientific activities, and climate are strategic variables with significant macro-level impacts on the regional development of Fars Province. |
