| Summary: | Total mesorectal excision (TME) is the “gold standard” for rectal cancer surgery. Multiple clinical studies in domestic and international have confirmed that laparoscopic TME performed by experienced surgeons has similar short-and long-term outcomes as open surgery. Achieving high-quality laparoscopic TME relies heavily on the exposure and identification of the fascial surrounding the rectum, during which the team cooperation among the surgeon, assistants, and the camera-holding assistant is crucial. Based on our team’s surgical experience and procedures, this article elaborates on the layer exposure and team cooperation during laparoscopic TME for rectal cancer through scenario-based descriptions. |
