description This research work arises from the need to conduct a reflective review of how the Product Design subject serves as a motivator of innovation and entrepreneurship among Industrial Engineering students at the Faculty of Engineering at Unicafam, and to investigate the expectations that this learning unit generates in students who have not taken it. Designers in the industrial field play a fundamental role in the production chain, where they assess consumer requirements in order to positively influence quality of life, which is why they continually innovate in their proposals. To understand the problems presented in this research work, a quantitative methodology was used. Therefore, and based on the literature reviews and the analysis of the questionnaires administered to Industrial Engineering students, it was revealed that both groups, those who have taken the subject and those who have not, presented a higher percentage in the survey linking the study unit with innovation, with a percentage of 97.37% for those who did not take the academic unit and 78.05% for those who did. Confirming that the Product Design unit is a driving force in innovation processes, thus generating entrepreneurial attitudes.
