| description | Students are a socially active stratum that makes up a large proportion of the electorate. The research objective was to detect electoral behavior patterns in students of the RANEPA Moscow campus and the Moscow Pedagogical State University. The authors clarified the definition of electoral behavior and developed a questionnaire to describeit university students. The statistical data were processed using the index method. The survey took place in the autumn of 2023 and covered 232 students aged 17–25. It revealed some correlations between different features of electoral behavior, as well as the effect of external factors. The obtained results made it possible to offer some useful recommendations on how to stimulate the electoral activity of Moscow students. The phenomenon of electoral activity proved to be quite complex. It was rather high but depended on the major and age. The RANEPA students, who majored in state and municipal administration, were much more active than the future teachers from the Moscow Pedagogical State University. While the general interest of students in political life was rather high, they demonstrated low awareness of youth political organizations. Their electoral activity could be raised by a combination of interactive and traditional forms, e.g., leaflets,
meetings with candidates, etc. |
