| Summary: | This article focuses on one of the two Latin poems by Garcilaso de la Vega discovered in 2022 by Maria Czepiel, namely Ode V, addressed to Johan Alexander Brassicanus. I first comment on a proposed correction to the second verse and then provide a different reading of the first stanza, especially in the light of the circumstances in which the poem was written and the biographical data of both writers, and develop the interpretation of the rest that it implies. |
