Description
Summary:This study assessed the associations between the Qualis/CAPES and bibliometric aspects of scientific production of geriactric nursing. Quantitative literature review, with a bibliometric approach, was conducted between May/July 2011, having as databases: BDENF, CidSaúde, IBECS, LILACS, MedCarib, MEDLINE, PubMed and SciELO, using the descriptors: Nursing, Nursing Care, Elderly, Elderly Health, and Geriatrics. A sample of 324 manuscripts was obtained. Chi-square tests, Fisher and Spearman were performed. The power of evidence (p=0.010), the analysis approach (p<0.001), monitoring of the sample (p<0.001), the authorship (p=0.008), their amount on each article (p<0.001), year of publication (p<0.001) and number of references (p<0.001) are aspects that are associated with the Qualis/CAPES. It is concluded that the Qualis/CAPES is associated with bibliometric aspects of scientific production of geriatric nursing, suggesting that such issues should be dealt with in a more elaborate way for the production of articles by researchers who aim to have their publications in journals of higher Qualis.
