Summary:The article addresses the issue of robotization on the modern battlefield. The author identifies and defines three of the most prevalent positions regarding the permissibility of using LAWS (Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems) technology. The text also highlights the significance of disputes concerning the meaning (e.g., in a legal context) of the term “autonomous weapon.” Furthermore, it identifies the main methodological problems associated with developing an acceptable definition of this concept. Finally, the author points out the key cultural and normative premises underlying the idea of battlefield robotization.
