| Summary: | Antioxidants have emerged as critical components in dermatology for their role in combating oxidative stress, a key factor in skin aging, inflammation, and various dermatological conditions. This review explores the common antioxidants and their impact on skin health. Emphasis is placed on the clinical applications of antioxidants in preventing photoaging, treating hyperpigmentation, and managing inflammatory skin diseases. Natural and synthetic antioxidants, such as vitamin C, vitamin E, polyphenols, and coenzyme Q10, are discussed. Emerging trends in antioxidant research, including nanotechnology and controlled release systems, are also highlighted. This study underscores the potential of antioxidants as essentials tools in dermatological practice, paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies. |
