Description
Summary:This paper focuses on what relates art and geography today – fieldwork –, aims at highlighting the issue of the aesthetics of spatial knowledge. It objectifies the three dimensions of the fieldwork’s contemporary feature – space as a principle, relationality as a mode, and self-identity as a motive –, and addresses the experiences of the performing body. The paper offers a crossed perspective on art as spatial science and on geography as aesthetics, and ends up with questioning the aesthetics regimes of spatial sciences. It calls to resort to a body of psychoanalytical theory – the so called transitional psychoanalysis –, which one has helped the qualitative geographers to ground their epistemology, in order to found and articulate this idea of a new aesthetics regime of spatial sciences.
