description Agriculture now has a role to play in the energy transition. Indeed, it is one of the main source of biomass from which the production of renewable heat and power energy can emerge. But the potential uses of biomass raise questions, and raise the question of the social acceptance of these new demands by farmers in a context where energy functions of agriculture generate debate and controversy. The purpose of this article is to examine how farmers perceive and apprehend the energy transition. It is thus to propose ideas concerning the conditions of acceptance of innovative projects. It is from a monographic study on flax cooperative located in the Oise and the establishment of a biomass boiler, that reflection is conducted. The interviews with farmers show that there are plural representations of the farming profession and risk. In conclusion, perceptions of stakeholders play a role in terms of acceptance of innovative projects.
