| Summary: | This is a literature survey that has analyzed published experiences of psychiatric interconsultation and units of psychiatric
internment in a general hospital (UIPHG) in Brazil in the last 10 years. We found only a small number of papers which emphasize medical
care. Consultancy and interconsultations are presented in different ways. The UIPHG is in a process of consolidation in the country and
still they face resistance. Psychiatric interconsultation and the UIPHG are alternatives for improving assistance in mental health, and
it is advisable that nurses explore this field. |
