Description
Summary:Tele-ophthalmology is helpful in providing cost-effective timely care and equitable services, especially to the large underserved rural population of India, more so with the collaborative efforts of the Government, health-care providers, and nongovernmental organizations. Tele-ophthalmology helps in providing health care in regions where there is a significant disparity in the doctor–patient ratio. Awareness regarding tele-ophthalmology is the need of the hour, especially in the era of coronavirus disease 2019 to enable access to medical care without in-person consultation. Furthermore, in the current scenario where the use of technology and social media is increasing day by day even in the rural population, we can grab this opportunity and turn it toward the positive growth of India’s health care.
