description Objective The comparison of anaemia in elderly patients with peritoneal dialysis( PD) and hemodialysis( HD) provides evidence for clinical treatment of anemia. Methods The relevant data of elderly patients aged over 65 years in the peritoneal dialysis center and hemodialysis center of our hospital were collected and classified into 79 cases in the PD group and 152 cases in the HD group according to different dialysis methods. Cross-sectional analysis was conducted to compare the differences in anemia and related indicators in the two groups. Results The levels of Hemoglobin( Hb) and Serum ferritin( SF) in PD group and in HD group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant( P < 0. 05). The results of comparison of Hb,CRP,SF and PTH in PD and HD groups showed that there was no significant difference in the older men( P> 0. 05). In elderly women,Hb and SF levels in PD group were significantly higher than HD group, the difference was statistically significant( P < 0. 05). When Hb > 90 g/L,The SF level in PD group and the HD group, the difference was statistically significant( P < 0. 05). A binary logistic regression analysis of factors that may affect anemia in elderly dialysis patients concluded that residual renal function( RRF) is an independent risk factor for anemia in elderly dialysis patients. Conclusions Anemia occurs more frequently in elderly patients with PD and HD,and the difference is more significant in women. To some extent, there is a connection with RRF.
