Description
Summary:Chronic pain is associated with reduced quality of life and significant medical expenditures. A considerable number of patients suffering of chronic pain syndromes have little or no benefit from conventional pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Since it was first introduced in 1985, transcranial magnetic stimulation has emerged as a potent therapeutic and diagnostic tool, with level A recommendation for the treatment of neuropathic pain and depression. We report the case of a 42-year-old man suffering of chronic non-specific lateral cervical pain who achieved significant pain relief after high-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (HF-rTMS) of the M1 area.
