Summary:Lesions of the lower extremities in diabetes mellitus are a complex and urgent problem of modern medicine. The high prevalence of diabetes mellitus, significant difficulties in timely diagnosis, differential diagnosis and the choice of therapeutic tactics to preserve the supporting function of the limb determine the difficulties in managing diabetic patients. Over the past decades, significant changes have occurred in the structure of specialized medical care for diabetic foot patients which has significantly reduced the number of high amputations, improved the quality and life expectancy of patients. The article presents the results of the long-term experience of the Diabetic Foot department in the treatment of diabetic foot patients.
