| description | Traditional central cloud computing model has disadvantages such as heavy data computing load and low efficiency. For this reason, edge computing gateway has received great attention and extensive research. As an improvement to cloud computing technology, in the IoT (internet of things) architecture, the edge computing gateway is a key component connecting local devices and cloud platforms. It is able to deploy data computing tasks to run on local devices, and upload the real-time, short-cycle data processed by edge computing to the cloud platform using Ethernet or wireless communication. In this paper, the literatures and researches on edge computing gateway at home and abroad are investigated, and the function selection and evaluation, key technologies, development history and application progress of edge computing gateway are summarized, the future development of edge computing gateway in the era of 5G and artificial intelligence is prospected based on the current application status and development trend of edge computing technology. |
