Description
Summary:The article analyzes the role of the European Union (EU) in the internal political processes in the countries of the South Caucasus region at the beginning of the XXI century. It is noted that the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) was aimed at developing the EU's privileged relations with these countries. Meanwhile, the financial assistance provided to them was associated with a number of important conditions, such as the development of democracy, the strengthening of the rule of law, and respect for human rights. The accelerated progress of any of these countries on the path of reforming the political system guaranteed a priority place among the recipients of European aid.
