| Summary: | The article is devoted to the study of certain aspects of the history of the formation and development of the system of law enforcement agencies in the Central Caucasus in the context of the transition to military-people's administration in the first half of the 1860s. Based on the analysis of legal acts and business documents from the Central State Archive of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the article examines one of the directions of the reorganization of the Terek Cavalry Irregular Regiment and the Terek Temporary Militia into the Terek Permanent Militia. It is noted that these transformations were temporarily implemented using the founding documents that regulated the activities of similar structures in other regions of the Caucasus. The article provides a detailed analysis of the 1860 Regulation on the Dagestan Permanent Militia. It concludes that in the first half of the 1860s, all these measures were aimed at reducing and reorganizing the militia, implementing structural changes, and establishing service regulations. |
