Summary:In order to study the effect of new sprocket for timing roller chain drive,dynamic simulations are carried out respectively about four timing roller chain drive systems in which four sprockets are exploited respectively such as ISO-606 sprocket,JIS-B1802 sprocket,GB/T-1243 sprocket,nonstandard sprocket which is formed by modifying the tooth profile of GB/T-1243 sprocket.And a comparison is made about the simulation results.Study shows that drive system using nonstandard sprocket is improved in many ways such as chain tension,contact force and friction force between chain and drive component,tensioned force,and angular velocity of camshaft sprocket.So by applying the nonstandard sprocket,the carrying capacity of the chain is increased,the power situation of the system is improved,transmission efficiency is improved,system life is extended,engagement impact is reduced,noise is reduced and polygonal effect is improved.
