Description
Summary:Conservation of wall paintings needs to understand the origin of the damages. It must take into account their complexity (lost of materials, successive layers), the duration of restoration treatments and the effect of the surroundings as well. One new way is to develop an interactive database containing spatial aspects and dated and compiled heterogeneous documents. An experimental database on Matteo Giovannetti’s frescoes in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon (Gard) is in progress.
