Description
Summary:The two last years have been marked by a a lot of media coverage about the climate change controversy. Actual uncertainties in the science of climate change have been used in order to contest the reality, magnitude and causes of the present ʺglobal warmingʺ. This paper reviews the present knowledge and the remaining uncertainties about the contemporary climate change, its causes and peculiarity in relation to past climate changes, and the capabilities of future climate modelling. However, uncertainties about the future climate are related to the economic, social and political choices requested by global warming mitigation, more than to the uncertainties of the science of climate.
