Summary:The design calculation of optimization on the double-stage cylindrical helical gear reducer is very complicated. Whether the mathematical model establishment is correct or incorrect, it is related to the optimization design on the gear drive is success or failure. The volume and weight of a reducer are mainly determined by the dimensions of gears and shafts. Therefore, a target function can be established by the sum of all volume of gear and shafts .The strength requirement on gear and shaft can be looked on as its constraint condition to establish the mathematical model on the optimization design of the double-stage cylindrical helical gear reducer which involves 12 design variables and 24 constrain conditions.
