Description
Summary:The building of the hydroelectric plants (Jirau and Santo Antônio), which started in 2008 at Madeira river in the city of Porto Velho-RO, offers to the part of the south western Amazon from Rondônia, a (re)valuation around the national and international context due to the energetic potential and also for being part of the complexes for the south-american circulation and energy. The materialization of the work focuses on the conflicts intensification about the territory use and its resources, which was proved from the analyses done about the acting scales of the actors and the strategies in the natural resources use in the studying area. The results confirm that in Amazon from Rondônia the infrastructure politics established are a result of external interests to the region and if they were implemented, they would disrupt the local organization logic, promoting the environmental and social tensions.
