A suggestion is given as to what might constitute “responsible theology”; a brief profile presents the multifaceted character of the present South African horizon, and a constructive proposal stresses hermeneutical revisionings of Trinitarian theology, soteriology (Gospel), ecclesiology (identity and community), and spirituality.
