Summary:We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Gastrophysa polygoni (knotweed leaf beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Chrysomelidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 369.80 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.89%) is scaffolded into 12 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 17.11 kilobases in length.
