Description
Summary:Just like the development of social networks, the emergence of geolocation based services raises the question of the disclosure of private information. Conceived as an interpersonal communication system, fostering the emergence of new modes of social interactions in distinct relational spheres, geolocation must also be considered as producing some kind of identity discourse. Indeed, users resort to various ways and means for exposing themselves and use more or less mastered strategies for providing visibility. Supported by some elements of a qualitative analysis devoted to the use of Foursquare, this presentation analyses the notions of privacy and the permeability between intimacy and public space.
