| Summary: | Based on engineering science, ecology and systems sciences coupled with situation in apple orchard, conceptions with apple IPM engineering as well as engineering tactics were discussed through comparison, induction and deduction approach. Through comparison between IPM and integrated control, IPM is different from integrated control in that IPM concerns the relationship between pest and human, that is, “management”. Since the system is mono-dependent, complex, and multi-parties, human has to be active to explore the internal law so as to strengthen inhibitory ability. The complex of the system was due to the adaptabilities and expansion of pest species, and maximum utilization of resources. So orchard management has to be dynamic and has a good command of the system mechanisms. Lastly, according to the engineering characteristics, management tactics are laid down in three hierarchies: holistic, operational and undertaking. The general guideline is adaptable management according to the mechanism explored. |
