description The resistance and heat transfer characteristics of a plate evaporative air cooler are investigated experimentally through varying the flow rate of air, hot water and humidification water. Correlations for the air side and hot water side pressure drop and convection heat transfer coefficient are obtained. The results of experiment show that the pressure drop of air side is not affected by humidification water. The heat transfer coefficient increases with the increase of humidification water flow rate and it is about 5 times larger than the one under dry condition.
