| Summary: | News is an art and a basic factor of the media, meaning, without news, journalism is difficult to be accomplished. The main purpose of this study is to determine the extent and level of news coverage in Xandan.
Xandan institute for broadcasting and publishing was established in 2004 in Suleiman, and received a legallicense from the Ministry of Culture in the Kurdistan Region. After expanding its operations in Iraq, it received a license from the Ministry of Civil Society Affairs in Baghdad.This research is comparable to the descriptive research, in the descriptive method, surveying method was used by doing visual analyses.
The research group is (xandan) in Kurdistan, because it is always available and it has an organised and a categorised archive. News is clearly defined in it. the sample selection method of the study was carried out in the form of a comprehensive survey, to obtain all the news published during that month in (xandan) (1/4,30/4/2022), which is (1027 news).
Several conclusions have been drawn from the analysis of the data and results: Political news is at the forefront, which is a normal reflection of the fascination of the community about politics. Most of the news is written in a (inverted pyramid) format, which dominates all the other formats. The results show that (xandan) has primarily relied on information from websites and gallery media in news coverage. This shows the weakness of (xandan) in having envoys and reporters.
