Description
Summary:This study explores the factors influencing Lebanese students' preferences for online learning (OLL) and on-campus learning (OCL) in the context of higher education. Using a cross-sectional survey design, the study gathered data from 5099 students at various Lebanese universities, predominantly private, through a distribution method that utilized email and WhatsApp. Analysis focused on five key areas: the impact of previous OLL experiences, physical and mental well-being, education quality, logistical challenges, and overall student preferences. The findings indicate that both logistical considerations and perceptions of educational quality play critical roles in shaping students’ learning preferences. While OLL was favored for its flexibility and accessibility, OCL was preferred for its interactive and practical engagement opportunities. By advocating for hybrid learning models that combine the strengths of both modalities, this study supports the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 4, promoting well-being and quality education. We recommend that educational institutions consider such integrations to enhance student satisfaction and educational outcomes.
