Description
Summary:We thank Schumann et al. (Schumann, Feuerbacher et al. 2024) for their engagement and thoughtful comments on our article (Ide, Silvatti et al. 2023), and the overarching use of terminology in sports science. Academic debate is critical for advancing our field, and we welcome the opportunity to clarify and expand on our arguments. While their comment offers a perspective on practical terminology use, we maintain that the application of “explosive” in scientific literature may be both unnecessary and potentially misleading.
