description Due to the existing problems of locomotives in the transportation department of domestic large-scale iron and steelmetallurgy enterprise, such as bad real-time performance of offline acquisition, expensive maintenance cost and difficult performanceevaluation, an online acquisition and monitoring system of locomotive comprehensive information was designed based on 3G platform.The status information of locomotives could be collected, transmitted, received and processed by the system to realize the reasonabledetermination of maintenance time point. The practice results show that the system improves the operation security of locomotives,reduces the maintenance cost, enhances the evaluation management for drivers and improves the production efficiency.
