Based on the study of a residential setting marked by the precariousness of an Indian immigrant family living in France and supported by judicial child protection service, this article aims to explore the attempts to define intimacy by and for the members of this family on one hand, and by the professionals on the other. The article highlights the flexibility of the ways in which intimacy is conceived, which can sometimes make understanding between families and professionals difficult. However, this flexibility also enables movement and the idea that, regardless of the context, intimacy can be conceptualized and made possible. |
