description This article will expose the problems of uncritically applying the theses of George L. Mosse to the case of the Spanish Civil War. Social aspects will be taken into account, such as the different personal experiences of soldiers before, during and after the war. The purpose is not to make a criticism, but some oservations on one of the theories that military history has vertebrated, from the cultural perspective, in recent years. Therefore, it is proposed that the path of the culturalist slope must go to another level and introduce social and contextual aspects. The mechanism to carry it out has been through secondary sources and some primary sources, because the text prioritizes the incorporation of ideas that a closed investigation. The final idea is to present an idea of ​​work, hence the sometimes essayistic nature of the article
