MYOCARDIAL REVASCULARIZATION IN PATIENTS WITH LEFT VENTRICULAR SYSTOLIC DYSFUNCTION: PROBLEM STATEMENT

Outcomes of myocardium revascularization in patients with chronic left ventricular systolic dysfunction due to coronary artery disease are still unclear. The identification of dysfunctional myocardial with residual viability that can improve after revascularization are very important for further pat...

description Outcomes of myocardium revascularization in patients with chronic left ventricular systolic dysfunction due to coronary artery disease are still unclear. The identification of dysfunctional myocardial with residual viability that can improve after revascularization are very important for further patient treatment. Hibernating myocardium can be identified by different methods and its presence and extent can predict functional and structural recovery after revascularization. New medical treatments and devices, have improved the prognosis of this patients and their use is supported by a number of clinical trials. The prognostic benefits of coronary revascularization for patients with chronic left ventricular dysfunction on optimal medical therapy and novel devices a randomized trial is still needed.
