Description
Summary:Health is a state subject in India and the major responsibility for delivery of health care is largely with the states with the Union government playing a supportive role in health care through the National Health Mission. Most of the states across the country don’t employ medical graduates in the primary care on a regular basis partly because of the nonexistence of sanctioned posts for doctors in primary care. Therefore, while the seats for MBBS in India’s medical colleges will continue to increase, employability will continue to be an issue. Reorganizing the primary care through the facilitation of processes promoting self-organization including but not limited to entrepreneurship development among MBBS doctors is currently emerging as a felt need and will only help strengthen the delivery of primary care.
