| Summary: | Introduction: Sleep disorders among hypertensive housewives are prevalent and can lead to both psychological and physiological issues, including elevated blood pressure. Non-pharmacological therapies, such as lemongrass water soaking, are cost-effective and accessible interventions with promising benefits. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of lemongrass water soaking in improving sleep patterns among hypertensive housewives. Methods: A pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted involving 32 hypertensive housewives selected through purposive sampling. Participants received lemongrass water soaking therapy twice daily for seven days. Data on sleep pattern were collected before and after the intervention using a standardized questionnaire, and blood pressure measurements were recorded. Statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: Wilcoxon test results show significant improvement (p=0.000), which are 29 respondents experienced decreased scores, 3 remained unchanged, and none showed increased disturbance scores. This implies that non-pharmacological therapy using lemongrass and salt soaks effectively reduces sleep pattern disturbances in hypertensive patients.. Conclusions: Lemongrass water soaking is a simple, natural, and effective non-pharmacological therapy for enhancing sleep pattern and managing hypertension in housewives. This intervention holds potential for broader application in community health programs to improve the well-being of hypertensive individuals.
